Does Leadership Require Acuity
Segment # 165
Every candidate for office on a national level should be required to take an acuity test.
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) was initially developed as a test for mild cognitive impairment, but has also been determined to match qualities of the MMSE.80 It assesses seven areas of cognition for a total possible score of 30 points. A score of 25 or less is indicative of cognitive impairment. This test is easy to administer in about 10 minutes and has been translated into many languages.81 Training and forms are available online.82
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test consists of various tasks designed to evaluate different cognitive domains. Here is a detailed breakdown of the questions and tasks included in the MoCA test:
1. Alternating Trail Making
Task: Draw a line alternating between numbers and letters in ascending order (e.g., 1-A-2-B-3-C-4-D-5-E).
Scoring: One point if the pattern is drawn correctly without any lines crossing.
2. Visuoconstructional Skills (Cube)
Task: Copy a drawing of a three-dimensional cube.
Scoring: One point if the drawing is three-dimensional, all lines are drawn, no extra lines are added, and lines are relatively parallel and of similar length.
3. Visuoconstructional Skills (Clock)
Task: Draw a clock, put in all the numbers, and set the time to 10 past 11.
Scoring: One point each for the correct contour (circle), numbers (all present and correctly placed), and hands (correct time, hour hand shorter than minute hand).
4. Naming
Task: Name three animals shown in pictures (lion, rhinoceros, camel).
Scoring: One point for each correct name.
5. Memory
Task: The examiner reads a list of five words twice, and the subject must recall as many words as possible immediately and again after five minutes.
Scoring: No points are given for immediate recall; points are given for delayed recall later in the test.
6. Attention
Forward Digit Span: Repeat a sequence of numbers in the same order.
Backward Digit Span: Repeat a sequence of numbers in reverse order.
Vigilance: Tap hand at each letter 'A' in a sequence of letters read aloud.
Serial 7s: Subtract 7 from 100, and continue subtracting 7 from each subsequent result.
Scoring: Points are allocated based on correct repetitions and subtractions.
7. Language
Sentence Repetition: Repeat two complex sentences.
Verbal Fluency: Name as many words as possible that begin with a specific letter (e.g., F) in one minute.
Scoring: Points are given for correct repetitions and a sufficient number of words named.
8. Abstraction
Task: Explain the similarity between pairs of words (e.g., banana and orange = fruit).
Scoring: One point for each correct abstraction.
9. Delayed Recall
Task: Recall the five words from the memory task without any cues.
Scoring: Points are given based on the number of words correctly recalled without cues.
10. Orientation
Task: State the current date, month, year, day, place, and city.
Scoring: One point for each correct answer.
The MoCA test is designed to be completed in approximately 10 minutes and has a maximum score of 30 points. A score of 26 or above is considered normal, while scores below 26 may indicate mild cognitive impairment.
Special Counsel Robert Hur decided not to prosecute President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents for several reasons:
Sympathetic Image and Memory Issues: Hur believed that a potential jury might have reasonable doubt due to Biden's age, sympathetic image, and memory issues. During interviews, Biden was described as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," which could make it difficult to secure a conviction.
Joe Biden refuses to either take or release the results of the acuity test cited above. It is apparent that his staff, cabinet, wife, and leaders of the Democratic party are covering for his deficiencies. The fact that the DOJ would have no problem prosecuting Trump for mishandling classified documents (noting there are arguments suggesting that there are major differences between a senator or VP having documents than a president), but have no problem giving Biden a pass because he is a feeble old man with a poor memory, is sad, dangerous, and a step or two away from mirroring some of our greatest foes.
And yes, they have released the transcript of Biden’s deposition before Hu but they refuse to release the video. There is no presidential exception here and the document is not classified and is a part of a proceeding and investigation over which Congress has oversight. If it did not portray Biden as a “sympathetic well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory”, it would have been released.
Why was it not released? – The library of Biden's public failures answers any questions. I don’t like to characterize these instances as bloopers or gaffs… because nothing is amusing about the President of the United States being observed internationally or at home in this state.
