El-Sayed held campaign events with Piker despite Piker's history of inflammatory remarks, including his infamous 2019 “America deserved 9/11” comment.
Piker is also famous for making openly racist comments about Black Americans, for calling for the public execution of American capitalists, and for recently claiming that American Jews would soon fall victim to violence if they continued to support the State of Israel.
DEFENSE OF TERRORISM
Abdul El-Sayed has faced scrutiny over his past writings about Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood. In 2011, he urged the United States to back Egypt’s revolutionary movement while dismissing concerns about the Muslim Brotherhood taking power. He has also been reported as a signer of a 2012 statement defending controversial actions by Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi.
When a terrorist drove a vehicle filled with explosives into a synagogue in Michigan, with the aim of killing hundreds of children, Abdul El-Sayed refused to condemn the terrorist, and instead responded by saying, “Hurt people. Hurt people,” suggesting that Americans should be more empathetic to the terrorist’s cause.
ABOLISH PRISONS & DEFUND THE POLICE
Abdul El-Sayed hasn’t just criticized the criminal justice system — he embraces calls to fundamentally dismantle it. He has expressed support for abolishing prisons and backed the “Defund the Police” movement, positions that would strip resources from law enforcement while eliminating the institutions that keep dangerous criminals behind bars.
THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE
Abdul El-Sayed oversaw an animal shelter that euthanized THOUSANDS of Michiganders’ pets.
The shelter was reported by a whistleblower for the unclean and inhumane conditions in which the animals were living.
When it was all said and done, Abdul oversaw the killing of roughly 4,000 dogs and cats.
