Am I Voting For or Against or Just Not Voting At All
I am entertained every voting cycle by voters rationalizing their choices. Here are the options: Option 1: I am voting for the candidate that I believe is the most qualified. Option 2: I am voting for one candidate because I hate the other candidate. Option 3: I am not voting for either candidate because I hate both, hate the system, am too lazy, or for whatever. Option 4: I am voting for a particular candidate because I am being influenced by money, spouse, friend etc. What’s completely obvious is that even a choice to do nothing is a choice with ramifications. So as an exercise in logic, lets eliminate political parties, personality traits, gender, class, money, media ads, pundits, or any other outside influence. What you are reduced to is you and your basic existence. What will help you survive and exist in the best way possibe?

We will be doing deep dives on each of the candidates to see if their credentials suggest they might be up for the challenge of higher office.
Basic Needs
Food, energy, and housing are basic costs that we all must pay to survive. Under Kamala /Biden these costs have gone up considerably. The average family is paying $1,100 more a month to maintain the same standard of living they had prior to 2020. We hear that inflation is going down. Well it has increased cumulatively each month meaning that you are still getting clobbered. Kamala has promised to bring this down. So it becomes a simple choice of her credibility versus Trump’s record
Health Care
We spend more per capita than almost any industrial country. Our life expectancy is going down not up. Our drug over doses are off the chart and our suicides are at an all time hight. The most realistic assessment of our health care system is life expectancy. And ours is dropping. Our population is fat, heavily medicated, and sedentary. Not good signs for the future. When i was born in the 1940’s we had four shots on the child innoculation schedule. We now have seventy-two shots uncluding Hepatis B which is given in the first 48 hours. Hep B is transmitted sexually or by dirty needles. You think there might be some corruption here? Trump has addressed this by unifying with Bobby Kennedy in a Make America Healthy Again. Kamala Harris has not been definitive in her policy platform. In the past she has indicated a preference for socialized medicine which will instutionally codify all the problems that have impacted our health care to date
Employment
When we see an increase in employment in the past several years, it is important to ask some critical questions. First are the stats accurate. Well now they weren’t and recently the adminsitration had to admit they overcounted by at least 800,000 jobs. Additionally, one should ask how many of these “new” jobs were actually bounce back jobs from COVID. Also during this administration, we have at least 10 to 15 million migrants some of which are seeking work. Whose jobs are they taking - probably African American and Mexican American labor. With some economists predicting a downturn, which candidate is better suited to help us ride this out?
Crime and Safety
You may hear from the DOJ or the FBI that crime is down. What these agencies won’t tell you is that they are not collection data in many places. You have probably heard stories of people stealing under a certain amount and not being charged or not even being prosecuted for violent crime. Obviously if they don’t collect the data or prosecute, some stats will reflect that The government definitely does not want you on social media seeing everything from You Tube, X, and TicToc reporting a very different story. Logically you can’t fail to prosecute and in addition have 10 t 15 million migrants coming into the country that can’t find free services that you are paying for… and not have a huge and growing problem.
Education
Pretty obvious if your kid can’t get a good education, he or she is doomed to stuggle in life. Under the Department of Education our educational system is failing our kids. Compared to the rest of the industrial world our math and reading proficiency scores are terrible and dropping further. Now introducing migrant kids into the equation, most of which don’t speak english, you will have a school crisis in many communities this fall. Kamala Harris has not addressed this at all. Trump understands the need to be competitive in the world.
Foreign Policy
In 2024 we now find ourselves embroiled in two wars - both of which have the necessary flash points to become much much worse. Trump did keep us out of war. Biden has not bee so successful. The next 3 months might well come down to who you believe could be a war time president. It does not appear that Harris engenders that sort of respect internationally. And certainly this adminsitration has been involved ina number of catastrophic blunders. The exit from Afghanistant, pushing Ukraine towards NATO membership, non-existent Middle East policy, and the inability to hold China accountable for everything from Fentanyl to COVID.
