Ukraine Made Easy

Segment # 372

A slightly engaged student of history remembers Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan with descriptive phrases like mission creep, bogged down, and stalemate. There is always a reason for the way things happen.. some people lose and some people win. As tempting as it is to take this in a direction to list who are the winners in a Ukraine stalemate, just be assured there are some benefiting by more fighting and more dying. In all this there is usually one pivotal question that focuses the rationale for making peace or making war. And that is what does victory look like? I remember quite well our leaders being unable to articulate a coherent answer to this question in all the conflicts cited above. Except for Trump his position on Ukraine hasn’t changed since he left office in 2020. His position was crystal clear before the recent meeting in the Oval office and it remains clear today. Rubio does a good job of articulating the US position.

Next time you hear a Democrat bloviating about Ukraine, see if you can decipher what victory looks like to him or her. You think calling Trump HItler, a racist, a Putin puppet, or a coward helps or hurts Putin?

The devil made me do this. I could not help myself.. my apologies
