Trudeau Out - Who’s Next

Segment # 322

Trudeau has already indicated that he will not run again. So the question is who on the left will take the fall when Canada holds their next election. The right is poised to take over amidst burgeoning anger for Trudeau’s policies that have crippled Canada for a decade. Pierre Poilievre and Trump should have no problem finding common ground; however, I think the exchanges should be fascinating.

Pierre Poilievre is currently the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, which is positioned on the political right. He won the party leadership on September 10, 2022, in a landslide victory, securing over 68% of the points. . As the leader of the official opposition, Poilievre has been consistently leading in polls, trailing Justin Trudeau by approximately 20 points and positioning the Conservatives as a strong potential alternative to the Liberal government. .

Political Context

The Conservative Party has been gaining momentum, particularly in Western provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan, where they have historically been very strong. With Trudeau's recent resignation, Poilievre and the Conservatives appear well-positioned for the upcoming federal elections, with polls suggesting they might secure a significant victory if an election were held today
