Sanctuary Cities
Segment # 047
Most of us don’t even recall a vote on sanctuary cities.. It seemingly was just unilaterally declared in many cases by executive order and that was it without the consent of city voters. My understanding is that an emergency must exist to justify such orders. A logical view is that the executive order in fact created the emergency.
I am not suggesting that illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities are the primary cause of all the problems of the inner city, but it obviously doesn’t help in tax bases that are already under water in serving their citizens. If you can only afford a Camry most folks don’t go out and buy a Ferrari on credit. That’s what our largest cities do and they can’t even afford to put gas in the Ferrari which is up on blocks and looking pretty shabby. The Democrat leaders move ahead unabated virtue signaling for more sanctuary cities and the complain when a busload shows up on their doorstep. These leaders are purposeful and don’t care a whit about you, your family or what the future holds for the next generation. The pattern should be more than obvious. Simply put the worst cities in terms of violence, police, drugs, and crime are being run by Democrats. Look also to the number of Soros backed district attorneys that preside over the most crime ridden cites. Voters backing these politicians are driving away the very tax base they require to solve their problems. To turn this around will require a change in leadership which probably won’t happen and a massive infusion of bail out money from the Feds which will only drag the rest of the country into this cesspool.
And to further the insult at the point at which there are so many desperate needs at home we are sending our money overseas, supporting illegal immigrants with housing, education, health care and ignoring the serious costs of damage from drug overdose, failing health care system, and failing educational standards.
List of mayors of the 50 largest cities in the United States
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of mayors of the 50 largest cities in the United States, ordered by their estimated populations as of the 2020 Census.[1] These 50 cities have a combined population of 49.6 million, or 15% of the national population. Louisville, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Nashville, and Honolulu have consolidated city-county governments where the mayor is elected by residents of the entire county, not just that of the main city; in these cases the population and respective rank are for the county.
In some states, mayors are officially elected on a nonpartisan basis; however, their party affiliation or preference is generally known, and where it is known it is shown in the list below.
The breakdown of mayoral political parties is 36 Democrats, 11 Republicans, and 3 Independents (two elected with state Democratic support).
