Lecture in Presidential Powers
Segment # 387
This is why CNN and the Dems fail to understand why they lost the 2024 election. The Dems are trying to block the expulsion of non citizen criminals from the United States. This is an 80 - 20 issue. Whether this is purely ideology or incompetence is beyond me. District federal judges cannot interfere with Presidential powers as listed below. As Miller points out that is judicially insanity leading to a total usurpation of presidential powers.
Kasie Hunt presses Stephen Miller about whether White House ignored judge's deportation order
The Constitution of the United States designates several key powers to the President as the head of the executive branch:
Commander-in-Chief
The President serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, granting authority to conduct warfare, deploy troops, and direct military operations in defense of national security
Foreign Affairs
The President has significant powers in foreign affairs, including:
Making treaties (with Senate approval)
Receiving ambassadors and other public ministers
Representing the nation in talks with foreign countries
Recognizing foreign countries
Legislative Powers
Signing or vetoing legislation
Recommending measures to Congress
Convening or adjourning Congress in extraordinary circumstances
Executive Powers
Enforcing laws passed by Congress
Appointing and removing executive officers
Requiring written opinions from heads of executive departments
Granting reprieves and pardons for federal offenses (except in cases of impeachment)
Filling vacancies that occur during Senate recesses
Appointment Powers
The President can nominate:
Cabinet members
Supreme Court Justices
Other high officials
Ambassadors
These appointments require Senate approval, except for temporary appointments during Senate recesses
.
Additional Powers
Leading their political party
Communicating directly with the public about issues
Representing the best interests of all people
It's important to note that while the President has significant powers, there are also limitations. The President cannot make laws, declare war, decide federal spending, or interpret laws, as these powers are reserved for other branches of government
JD Vance explains what the deportation of green card holders is really about
As a result of their immigration policy, the UK, France, and Germany are a mess. They are literally losing control of their democracies. Vance explains why we cannot make the same mistake here. In the US non citizens are in the US provisionally and they do not share the same rights as US citizens. Under the Biden administration they pretended this was not the case. That time is over. A green card holder does not have the right to all the benefits of citizenship.
