Noted in yesterday’s post was the chaos created by the Administration’s censorship of free speech. It doesn’t get more serious than death. COVID wasn’t a unique example, it was a trend that existed before and after. And Biden attempted to create a Disinformation Board run by Nina Jankowitz. Is there a clearer indication of intent to destroy the First Amendment other than appointing a group of people to tell everyone what is sanctioned speech? This blatant and constitutionally illegal attempt to control the message should tell folks on the left and right where the Biden Administration wants to take us, that is, to a totalitarian state. Think it impossible.. it could have passed and by the way, people are being arrested in Canada for speech.

In April 2022, the Biden administration announced the creation of the "Disinformation Governance Board" under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The board was intended to coordinate efforts to counter disinformation that could threaten U.S. security, particularly focusing on issues like human migration and Russian disinformation campaigns. Nina Jankowicz, an expert in disinformation with a background in Ukraine and Russia issues, was appointed to lead the board. The announcement was met with significant backlash, particularly from Republican lawmakers and right-wing media, who criticized the board as an infringement on free speech and likened it to an Orwellian "Ministry of Truth". Critics also scrutinized Jankowicz's past statements and social media activity, further fueling the controversy. In response to the criticism, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas clarified that the board was an internal advisory group without operational authority and was not intended to monitor U.S. citizens. Despite these clarifications, the board faced intense public and political pressure, leading to its suspension just three weeks after its creation. The controversy surrounding the board continued, with some lawmakers pushing for legislation to prevent the establishment of similar entities in the future.
