Arctic Frost
Segment #603
It is reasonable to ask if the left has established a new set of rules for the use of lawfare and government agencies to take out your political opponents. The only way this will stop is for both sides to understand the cold war concept of mutually assured destruction. This will get uglier as the left is exposed.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) revealed during a hearing focused on oversight of the FBI that the Bureau's election-related investigation into President Donald Trump was more extensive than originally thought. This probe was allegedly launched in 2022 and swept in dozens of Republican entities, including the late Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA. LiveNOW’s Mike Pache is speaking with Former FBI Agent Eric O'Neill. Speaking during Tuesday’s hearing, Grassley said the investigation, which the bureau called "Arctic Frost," was partisan in nature. The Iowa Senator said that its expansive scope was evidence of that. "In other words, Arctic Frost wasn't just a case to politically investigate Trump," Grassley said. "It was a vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and Department of Justice prosecutors could achieve their partisan ends and improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus."
Based on public statements and records released by Senator Chuck Grassley, the FBI's "Arctic Frost" investigation, which served as the basis for Special Counsel Jack Smith's case related to the 2020 election, was more extensive than previously understood.1
Grassley's findings, often made in conjunction with Senator Ron Johnson and based on whistleblower disclosures, include:
Expanded Scope: The investigation, which was initially thought to be focused on Donald Trump, was broadened to include dozens of Republican-affiliated organizations and individuals.2 Grassley claims that "Arctic Frost" was a "vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and Department of Justice prosecutors could achieve their partisan ends and improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus."3
Targeted Groups: The senator has stated that the investigation targeted at least 92 Republican entities, including groups like Turning Point USA, the Republican National Committee, and the Republican Attorneys General Association.
FBI Agent Misconduct: Grassley alleges that a specific FBI agent, Timothy Thibault, violated bureau protocols to initiate the "Arctic Frost" case.5 He claims Thibault "self-approved his own case" and that the investigation was "defective from the very start" due to a "political infection."6
Obtaining Phones: Grassley and Johnson have released records showing that as part of the "Arctic Frost" investigation, the FBI obtained the government cell phones of both Donald Trump and Mike Pence.7
Whistleblower Information: Grassley has repeatedly emphasized that his findings are based on information and documents provided by "heroic whistleblowers" from within the FBI and the Department of Justice.8 He has praised them for exposing what he calls "political rot within our top law enforcement institutions."
During the FBI oversight hearing, Rep. Andy Biggs said whistleblower records revealed “Arctic Frost,” an FBI case launched by anti-Trump agents, was expanded to investigate 92 Republican-linked groups, including Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, calling it a partisan weapon against the GOP.
