It is fascinating that the Dems have pretended for four nights during the DNC that Trump is the incumbent, and that they represent ‘hope and change’. And, that from day one, Kamala will right all the wrongs. Day One was over a thousand days ago when the Dems took power and created the mess on the border, bad economy, impending wars, drug overdoses, child trafficking, and rising crime. It’s a bit comical to put all that on Trump and make him the villain for the hole we are in.
But that’s their game, and they will do everything they can to protect Kamala from direct questions or impromptu sessions.
ABC News to host Debate / Linsey Davis, David Muir to moderate first Harris, Trump debate… And there is a backstory
There is a close personal connection between Kamala Harris and a senior executive at Disney who oversees ABC News: Dana Walden, a top Disney executive whose portfolio includes ABC News, has a long-standing friendship with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Some key details about their relationship:
Walden and Harris have known each other since 1994
Their husbands have been friends since the 1980s
The Waldens have contributed financially to Harris's political campaigns since at least 2003
Harris has credited the Waldens for introducing her to her husband Doug Emhoff on a blind date
At a 2022 fundraiser held at Walden's home, Harris jokingly said "Dana and [her husband] Matt are responsible for my marriage"
This connection has drawn scrutiny because ABC News is set to host an upcoming presidential debate. However, ABC has stated that Walden does not weigh in on editorial decisions. The network says all editorial choices are made by ABC News management and journalists "who hold themselves to the highest journalistic standards". While there is no evidence of direct editorial influence, the close personal relationship between a top executive overseeing ABC News and a presidential candidate has raised questions about potential conflicts of interest as the 2024 election approaches.
And ABC News has been so objective the past 8 years in covering President Trump. I am sure they will continue their same record of bipartisan journalism of the past.

One of the few areas that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been able to crow about since they took office has been employment. Even as inflation has soared with prices up 20% and real incomes down by $2,100, per family, on their watch, hiring has been strong and unemployment low - until recently. But, now we learn that much of this was a statistical illusion. The new re-estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics find that the agency overcounted some 800,000 jobs. Over the last year, employment was nearly 30% lower than originally announced. Oops!! It gets worse. The original headline numbers released each month have been revised DOWNWARD by another 300,000 in subsequent months. Add it all together, and we have 1.1 million fewer Americans working than originally announced. Either the Labor Department has been manipulating the numbers (which we think is unlikely), or the agency under Biden is incompetent in counting. Either way, there should be an investigation.
Oh and by the way, the new revisions also reveal that the private sector jobs that matter most - business services, construction, manufacturing, finance - were lower than originally announced, while the jobs in government-related activities were revised UPWARD.
More evidence that we keep adding jobs where we don't want them and shedding jobs where they are most needed.
